Rogue fibre

It's been a while since I've sat down at my spinning wheel - I'd gotten bogged down in an ill-fated attempt to learn woolen style spinning. So, with a burst of inspiration from a fellow spinner, I decided it was time to go back to my comfort zone of worsted style.

This week I pulled out a braid of Sweet Georgia polwarth + silk fibre in the rogue colorway and stole some time to sit back down at the wheel. (I may have even moved sprout's play mat down into my office/craft room so I that could spin a bit with her while tadpole was at school.)

Hello, wheel. It's good to see you again.

Looks wonderful! Smart move with the playmat -- make hay while the sun shines. Spinning while enjoying your sweet baby's company sounds just about perfect.

I love that I could be your inspiration to start spinning again...I'm humbled. But why oh why did you have to post a picture of that beautiful fiber that I am now coveting (oh, those colors)...when I am 1100 miles away from my spinning wheel? That said, I'm glad that you realized you just needed to go back to what you were comfortable with...the challenges of a new technique can always wait for another day. Please share the finished skein...I can't wait to see how those colors are going to meld after plying!
